LADY VIKES SET FOR REGIONAL CLASH AT JIMTOWN AFTER DOMINANT SEASON & SECTIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP The Valparaiso High School girls basketball team is heading to the IHSAA 4A Regional with a head of steam, a 23-2 record, and one goal in mind: a trip to Semi-State. After a dominant performance in the Sectional tournament—capped off by a decisive 58-20 victory over Merrillville—the Lady Vikings are ready to take their experience, focus and grit to Jimtown High School this Saturday, February 14th, for a high-stakes showdown against the Northridge Raiders. --A Season to Remember-- The 2025-2026 campaign has been nothing short of historic for Valparaiso. Under the leadership of Head Coach Kelly Kratz, the Vikings rolled through the Duneland Athletic Conference with a perfect 7-0 conference record for the second straight year. The season has been defined by relentless defense and a balanced scoring attack. Senior standout Lillian Barnes has been the engine for the Vikings, leading the team in nearly every statistical category, including points (21.3 PPG), rebounds (7.4 RPG), and an incredible 5.0 steals per contest. But this is anything but a one-woman show. Junior Delilah Kincaid has been a force in the paint and on the perimeter, averaging 12.3 points per game, while sharp-shooting senior Cadynce Clark has provided veteran leadership and 9.6 points per game. The chemistry of this roster, featuring starters Bri Fincannon and Chyanne Brown and key contributors Allison Sedevic and Alyssa Buergler, has propelled the Vikings to a #8 state ranking. --The Matchup: Valparaiso (23-2) vs. Northridge (19-7)-- • When: Saturday, February 14, 2026 • Time: 6:00 PM CST (Note: Jimtown is in the Eastern Time Zone; tip-off is 7:00 PM EST local time) • Where: Jimtown High School (Jerry Cook Court) • The Prize: IHSAA Class 4A Regional Championship The Northridge Raiders (19-7) come into the Regional after a thrilling Sectional Championship win over Warsaw.
