Vikings Shine at the IHSAA Girls Swimming & Diving State Finals

The Valparaiso High School Girls Swimming & Diving team delivered an outstanding performance at the 2025 IHSAA State Finals on Saturday, February 15, showcasing their talent and determination on the state’s biggest stage. The Vikings finished 10th in the overall team standings with 102 points, demonstrating their strength across multiple events. STATE CHAMPIONSHIP PERFORMANCE Madeline Moreth captured the 100-yard breaststroke state championship, finishing with a time of 1:00.58. *New School Record* PODIUM FINISHES The 200-yard medley relay team of Evangelina Papachronis, Madeline Moreth, Abby Lee, and Amiah Sparks secured an impressive runner-up finish, posting a time of 1:42.25. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Amiah Sparks, Evangelina Papachronis, Ava Hearn, and Abby Lee had the 6th fastest time in the state, finishing with a 3:29.03. *New School Record* FINALS RESULTS - INDIVIDUAL EVENTS 50-yard freestyle – Amiah Sparks finished 11th in the state with a time of 23.63. FINALS RESULTS - RELAYS 200-yard freestyle relay – 9th place (1:39.91) – Moreth, Marin Anderson, Whitney Anderson, Ava Hearn DIVING SUCCESS Reagan Williams finished 10th overall in 1-meter diving, posting a finals score of 382.45, while her teammate, Aylea Sutherland, reached the semifinals, placing 18th overall, with a score of 267.20. With multiple top performances, the Vikings once again proved to be a powerhouse in Indiana high school swimming.
